Counselling and Psychotherapy Association Canberra and Region
Counselling and Psychotherapy Association Canberra and Region (CAPACAR) is a professional association of counsellors and psychotherapists based in the ACT. It was established in 1994 and currently (April 2002) has 90 financial members.
Members of CAPACAR are professional counsellors and psychotherapists who work in organisations and in private practice. Our members practice a wide variety of counselling modalities and their specialities and areas of interest cover the full spectrum of therapeutic issues and client groups.
CAPACAR seeks to ensure that the services provided by its members meet a high professional and ethical standard. CAPACAR promotes professional and ethical conduct and a high standard of practice through professional development activities such as regular meetings, seminars, discussions, workshops and through our newsletter.
Members qualify by meeting recognised training standards and demonstrated counselling experience and supervision in accordance with PACFA requirements. Members must abide by the CAPACAR Code of Ethics to ensure responsibility and accountability.
